Southern Miss Education Law Association (S.M.E.L.A.) is a graduate student research collaborative at The University of Southern Mississippi and is affiliated with the national Education Law Association. The purpose of S.M.E.L.A. is to create a community of scholars committed to the study of education law. The mission of the organization is to make informed recommendations that ultimately impact policy and practices within the educational community through learning, teaching, publication, and research. Membership is open to graduate students in any approved program of study at USM. Additionally, University faculty may participate in S.M.E.L.A. as affiliate members.
